The Amy Fiske Scholarship and Creative Writing Awards

Friends of the Medfield Library congratulates the Medfield High School students who won the 2025 creative writing contests for prose and poetry ($500 for each prize) and the Amy Fisk Scholarship ($2,000 prize) competition. The Amy Fiske Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Amy Fiske, a MHS student who worked at the Medfield Public Library prior to her untimely passing in 1985. In sponsoring these awards, The Friends of the Medfield Library hope to encourage young writers throughout their teenage years and to promote interest in writing and the language arts.

Here are the 2025 awardees and their winning categories:

Amy Fiske Senior Prose
Growing Up Against the Wind (Anna LaRowe)

All School Poetry
Empty Collar (Emily McKechnie)

Grades 9-11 Prose
(The winner wishes to remain anonymous.)

The winning entries are on display in a binder located at the Friends Bookstore starting August 2. The bookstore is located on the main floor of the Medfield Public Library.
