Programs at the Medfield Public Library

All programs are FREE thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Medfield Library. Please respect the age limits and arrive on time. For programs that require advance sign-up, you may do so online (below), in person, or by phone. Feel free to contact us for more information.

Storytimes

Our weekly storytimes combine books, music, rhymes, and movement to develop early literacy.

Pattycake Place: 0-24 mos.     Wed. & Thurs. @ 10:15

Toddler Time: 18-36 mos.     Wed. & Thurs. @ 10:45

All Together Now: 0-36 mos.     Wed. & Thurs. @ 11:15

Preschool Pageturners: 3-5 yrs.     Wed. & Thurs. @ 11:45

Please choose one age appropriate session per week, so we have room for everyone in the Children’s Program Room No registration required

Kindergarten Kickstart

Incoming Kindergartners and caregivers are invited to try out a variety of fun activities to help them get ready for their big step into Kindergarten.

Mr. Vinny's Shadow Puppet Show

Mr. Vinny’s interactive show is sure to entertain with silly and surprising stories such as the “12 Lil’ Pigs and the Big Bad Pineapple”.

Elijah T. Grasshopper & Friends

A musical storytelling show for kids to learn funky dance moves like the Bumpity Bump and the Pumpkin Dance, all the while promoting a message of social harmony.  We’ll have two showings, so you can come before or after lunch! Visit Elijah’s website here

Curious Creatures

Get up close and personal with a selection of mammals, bugs, and reptiles!  Learn all about these fascinating creatures.

Space is limited.  Free tickets will be available at the Children’s Desk starting one hour before the show.

 

Music Makers

Enhance your little one’s love of music during this 30-minute bonding time, with songs, dance, and movement games to excite your budding musician!

Beginning Reader Book Club

Children just learning to read will work through a book together followed by a craft or activity.  Book will be available at the Children’s Room desk, starting a month before the meeting.

Secret Coding for Young Scientists

Join real life scientists Elizabeth Bless and Sandra Pearl to learn how to decipher and create hidden messages using math, logic, and deductive reasoning skills.  Each session will feature a famous secret code used in history and the code breakers who solved it!

Read to a Dog

Kids can relax with some one on one time with a specialized reading dog.  It’s a great opportunity for emergent readers to share books with a non-judgmental audience.  Dogs will simply love you and listen!  Bring your favorite book or pick one from our collections.
